“I gotta get out of here.”
“You don’t want to watch, Daddy?”
“No.”
Sway grinned, teasing. “Most guys would love to see two beautiful girls…”
“That’s alright.”
“Look at you. You’re so cute… All embarrassed.” She wiped across my brow with the tips of her fingers. “You’re sweating…and blushing.”
Cami moaned loudly, calling out Tyler’s name.
“You hear this shit, Sway? That’s it, I’m out!”
“Where are you going?!”
“I don’t fucking know, but I’m not staying here to see or hear whatever it is women do with each other. What are you going to do?”
“I’m going with you!”
“Well, let’s go!” I patted my hip pocket, searching. “My wallet…”
“Where is it? On the dresser?”
“Yeah. And the fob. You’re going to have to get it… And leave a room key in case they want to go out.”
“Okay, okay. I’ll meet you at the car.”
From the corner of my eye, I stole a peek at the two. They were totally naked, scissored, grinding each other to orgasm.
I was propped, arms folded, leaning on the front fender when Sway came speed-walking through the double doors. “What took you so long? Did they tag you in?”
She laughed as she made her way to the passenger side. “I’ve never eaten a pussy or had my pussy eaten by a bitch, and I don’t ever plan to.”
I started the ignition, placed the selector in drive, and pulled away. “They didn’t even consider… They just went at it as if we weren’t even there. Like, fuck us.”
“Right? Like some pent-up shit.”
“Are you sure you didn’t know about them?”
“One hundred percent positive!”
“Do you think Cami set the whole thing up so that we’d take Tyler in? Is she that clever?”
“Nah…”
“Maybe Tyler is, though.”
“I don’t see that either because I asked her all on my own. It was my idea. Cami had nothing to do with it. I saw all that money she was making and how good she is with the tricks…”
“We’re going to need it.”
“Again, Andre?”
I paused, sighing. “Sway, at some point, they’re going to shut all this shit down.”
“The whole city?”
“The whole fucking country. Everybody will be out of a job. Everything you see right now… None of this shit will be going on. Stores closed; motherfuckers looking for food.”
“Like some futuristic zombie movie.”
“You got jokes.”
“Come on, I’m just playing.”
“Whatever.”
“I’m more than sure they’ll take care of us.”
“Who? The government?”
“Yeah, they’re not going to let us all starve or be homeless.”
“You’re so optimistic.”
“There’s that smile, but seriously, that’s never going to happen.”
“Okay, let’s say they come up with a bill or whatever, and it goes for a vote, however they do that shit. Let’s say it’s approved. You know who they’re going to take care of first? Big fucking business… The airlines, the banks…
“Then after lining all they’re friends’ pockets, they’re going to be out of money and have to start the shit all over again.
“And this is where we really get fucked, because this time they’re going to debate over the shit, back and forward, back and forward, right? Then it’s going to get stalled, delayed…
“In the meantime, we’re fucking dying in the streets, or if you’re lucky enough, at home in your bed or in a crowded fucking hospital.
“And if we’re really, really lucky, by the time they finally get to us, it’ll be all watered down and won’t even be close to being enough.”
“I see what you’re saying. I get it… What about your guy? People are still going to want coke.”
“Maybe even more… But how do you deliver during a pandemic, though?”
“I’m getting depressed.”
“Hey, look. You know, I need to have a better attitude. Maybe I am worrying too much. It’s not going to change anything.”
“We can’t control what we can’t control.”
“No, we can’t. I’m only looking at the worst… But I have to do that, Sway. I have to be prepared; always.”
“But we can hope for the better.”
HOME – 5:48 p.m.
We’d stopped for Popeye’s, ordering two boxes of mixed pieces, four bowls of red beans and rice, and mashed potatoes, fries, biscuits, and drinks.
Sway knocked sharply before sliding the key into the electronic lock. “Cami! Tyler!” She peeped in. “Anybody home?!”
We cautiously entered. Sway looked around as I set our supper onto the coffee table. “They’re not here. Where did you leave the key?”
“Right there where you are.”
“It’s gone.”
“I hope they didn’t go to get something to eat. I’d hate for all this to go to waste. We have to pinch our pennies, right?”
I smiled. “Right.”
“It’s hot too. I’ll start setting everything out. They can’t have gone far.”
“I have to take a piss.”
