THE W – JIMMY JOHN’S – NOON

It was the final day of our honeymoon.

Sway and I, dressed in our house clothes, had gone down to the Jimmy John’s for club sandwiches. We’d taken a seat next to the window.

I looked across to her. “You’re worrying again. What is it?”

She stared out, watching the moving vehicles and the people walking by. “Nothing.”

“What do you mean nothing? It hasn’t even been a month, and I can already tell when you have something going on in that beautiful mind of yours.”

She chuckled. “What’s up?”

“Well… Money again?”

She turned to me. “I don’t want you to go from all this luxury to being on the street, Andre.”

I leaned back in my chair. “That’s not going to happen.”

“It’s still winter… I’m ride or die all the way. I’m with you until the end, but it’s going to be cold under those overpasses.”

“Sway, I’m not going to let that happen.”

“How much money do we have left?”

“Let me check the balance.” I pulled my phone. “We got… Damn… A lot of shit hit the bank already. There’s thirty-two hundred, fifty-six dollars and fifty-nine cents.”

“See! I knew it. You spent almost double that on all this. You had to have had a least ten thousand before you met me.”

“Stop doing that! I spent it because I wanted to spend it! Fuck outta here. I never had a mamma and I don’t need one now!”

“Baby… Baby, okay. Just listen to me. I only want to help find a way to get that back and then some. That’s all I’m saying.”

“I’m sorry… You didn’t deserve that.”

“No, I’m prying… I know.”

“It’s okay. I’m just not used to anyone telling me how to handle my shit…”

“And I’m not trying to. You’re in control of the money. I just want to help you make the money. I want what’s best for us.”

“You’re right.”

“As soon as we get back, let’s get to work, okay?”

“Bet.” I glanced at my messages. “I know those motherfuckers are pissed.”

“You got missed calls?”

“Fifty-six.”

“You didn’t tell them?”

“Nope.”

“They might think you’re like in jail or dead.”

I laughed. “They probably don’t want to fuck with me now. Might think I’m hot.”

Sway smiled. “That’s alright, I got you. How much coke do we have left?”

“Three grams… I need to score like tonight. I’m going to call my guy in a minute. I might as well get a whole one this time.”

“Can you make some twenties for me?”

“For Ecstasy?”

“I know there for sure.”

“Okay.”

“You can cut it too. It’ll still be better than what they’re getting right now.”

“I guess I could touch it a little bit… Get some Mannitol or Lidocaine when I pick up. They have all that shit. We can flip that right quick and re-up a couple more times…”

“Plus, what I’ll be bringing in.”

“What do you mean?”

“I told you. I want to go and work with Demi.”

“You talking again about dancing? You’re serious.”

“Yeah, I can make us a lot of money. I know how to work a trick. I can get that.” Sway paused. “Baby, I don’t mean it like that.”

“What?”

“I can see it in your face. I will never sell my body unless you ask me to.”

“I didn’t even say anything…”

“I know what’s in that handsome mind of yours. You can trust me. I’m yours to do whatever you want me to do.”

“That pussy is mine, Sway. I don’t want no other motherfucker up in it.”

“Ooh fuck. Say that again…”

“I said that that pussy is all mine and I don’t want no other motherfucker up in it.”

“I want to get under this table right now and suck your motherfucking dick.”

I scanned the room. “We would definitely go to jail… For sure. Ooh!”

Sway had removed her shoe and was sock-jobbing me with her foot. She smiled. “Your dick is hard as fuck. What are we going to do about that?”

“I don’t know. What do you want to do?”

“We’re finished here… Don’t you have to use the restroom?”

“You’re not thinking… The restroom, Sway?”
