GOLD TOWN CABARET – 5:38 p.m

We’d spent half the day at Planned Parenthood, where we were prodded, poked, had blood drawn, and were given a two-day wait for final results.

Sway was handing her ID to the door girl when Natalia and Sarah marched into the vestibule. “Andre, you sexy motherfucker!”

“Hey, Natalia.”

“Come with me, doll. We have to go and talk.” She peeked around me, tugging at my arm.

Sway grabbed my free hand tightly, standing her ground.

Sarah looked to Sway. “Hey, I’m Sarah.”

Sway gave a quick smile in return. “Hi.”

Natalia stepped closer. “Tell your little friend to have a seat out here. We’ve got business to take care of.”

“No, we’re all going to go in and we’ll talk together.” I reached back, placing my arm around Sway’s shoulders, positioning her in front of me as we entered the main room.

We’d taken a table near the second stage. I’d ordered a beer and a Red Bull for Sway. Natalia and Sarah both had a whiskey.

“Here, I got two hundred, Andre. Give me five.”

“You were ready for me, weren’t you?” Sway handed me the five sacks. I traded them for Natalia’s cash. Sway sorted out the bills, showing me the count. I looked to Natalia. “Thanks.”

“Really?”

“Really, what? Is something wrong?”

“Yes, something’s wrong.”

“What?” I looked to the shiny blue packets in her palm. “It’s right, huh? That’s five…”

“The coke is right.”

“Well, what’s the problem?”

“I’ll tell you the problem. You bring this little girl in here in front of me, a grown ass woman, and got her handling your fucking business.”

Sway leaned upright in her chair. “What’s it to you, bitch? As long as you get your shit…”

“Bitch?”

“Yeah, bitch!” Sway shot to her feet.

“You’re going to let her disrespect me like that, Andre?”

“Talk to me, not him. You just said you’re a grown ass woman, didn’t you?”

Sarah begged, pleading. “Girls, girls, come on… Calm down.”

Natalia came back. “Young, stupid, and jealous.”

“Of what? You? Why is he with me, ho?”

“If I wanted him, I would have had him from the start.”

“And if he was blind and stupid and had made that mistake, after spending five minutes in my company, he would have made the call, bitch. He would have dumped your old floppy titty ass.”

Natalia looked to me. “This is what I’m saying. You see what happens when you bring a child into adult situations?” She turned to Sway. “Why don’t you go outside and wait in the car. Then, when Andre is done talking with the ladies, he can take you home and let you play with your baby dolls.”

“Go home and play with your grandchildren, bitch. You should be retired anyway. Look at you… You’re day shift, B team… Worn out, thick… Crooked-legged bitch.”

Natalia weakened. Holding back tears, she darted towards the dressing rooms.

Sarah rose slowly, easing her chair to the edge of the table. “Wow, I’ve never seen her this upset. I’m going to go and check on her. Thanks for coming in, Andre. The girls needed you.”

I stood, comforting Sway. I looked into her eyes, studying her. “Go on, let it out.”

She broke, grinning impishly. “I didn’t start it.”

“You did finish it, though.”

“You’re so crazy. I love you.”

I didn’t know if there would be repercussions in the future, but I knew this battle was over, and it was a clear victory.

Sway jogged to the car ahead of me. She stood waiting, tightly clutching her jacket front as we entered. I started the engine and blasted the heater.

“It wasn’t this cold when we came in, was it?”

“No!” I checked my phone for the weather. It was forty-four and dropping. I turned to Sway. “I’m telling you something right now, and I don’t want a debate or a discussion about it. I’m taking you to the Galleria and we’re going to get you a proper coat, a jacket, and some clothes…”

“Okay, but not too much…”

“Sway! Shut the fuck up already. I’m getting tired of it, okay? Give it a fucking rest!”

“Okay… Alright, Andre.” She smirked. “Hook a bitch up. I’m fucking freezing.”

GALLERIA – 7:15 p.m.

We’d gotten lucky with a parking spot on the ground floor of the Blue Garage.

I’d suggested Macy’s. Before entering the women’s department, I’d placed fifteen one hundreds into her hand. Sway had found a sales lady. I’d stepped away, taking a stroll through the mall.

It was almost closing time when we were dragging her shopping bags on the way to the Apple store. I’d surprised her with an iPhone 11 Pro with all the accessories to go with it. She’d chosen the new purple.

On the way home, we called in to Pizza Hut and placed a to-go order.

After eating, we showered and were huddled up on the sofa for some TV.

Demi had called around 2:30 a.m. and slid by for a forty before heading home.

We’d called it a night at around 4:15 a.m. and got into bed. Sway spoke softly near my ear. “I don’t know if I can wait two days.”

“It’s really only about one day now. This one’s over.”

“Okay, I don’t know if I can wait one day.” She pressed closer. “I want you so bad.”

“I want you too.”

Sway lightly massaged my arms and chest. “You are so muscular, tall. So brown and beautiful.” She rose from the bed and walked to the bathroom. She quickly returned with a hand towel. She placed it onto the bed next to me. “Turn on your side.”

Sway climbed behind me, rubbing her hands together. I could smell the scent of lotion. She reached into my boxers. “Relax, baby.”

Her grip was firm but gentle. The slow and steady strokes increased in rhythm. Within moments, it was over.
